Volleyball Recap: Mary Walker Takes a Loss

After flying high against Odessa on Tuesday, Mary Walker came back down to earth. The Chargers fell just short of the Manson Trojans by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost four in a row.

Kaylin Gines paced Mary Walker's offense, picking up 11 kills. Gines got some help from Addisyn Matherly-Stricker and her nine assists. Gines was also a major player on defense: she and she shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

Mary Walker's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Manson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Mary Walker didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Oakesdale on the 11th. As for Manson, they will head out to square off against Liberty Bell at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
