 On Saturday, Woodford County faced West Jessamine in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Woodford County Yellowjackets fell just short of the West Jessamine Colts by a score of  2-1. Woodford County has not had much luck with West Jessamine recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
  Collin Kemp made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run while going 3-for-4.
 On West Jessamine's side, their victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Hayden Peters, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Woodford County's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for West Jessamine, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 14 of their last 16 matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record  this season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodford County will  square off against Franklin County at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday. Woodford County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6  runs per game  this season. As for West Jessamine, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Mercer County at 6:30  p.m.  on Monday.
