Volleyball Recap: St. Bede Bruins vs. Putnam County Panthers

St. Bede waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They had just enough and edged the Putnam County Panthers out 2-1. The Bruins have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

St. Bede had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-20, 25-23.

Ashlyn Ehm paced St. Bede's offense, picking up ten kills. Ehm got some help from Sadie Koehler and her 22 assists. Finally, Ehm was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

St. Bede pushed their record up to 18-13 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Putnam County, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-21-1.

St. Bede will stay at home for another game and welcome Henry-Senachwine at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Henry-Senachwine will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something St. Bede surely won't give up without a fight. Putnam County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
