Windsor Forest gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 19-6 win over the Brantley County Herons. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Herons, too.

Windsor Forest found their leader in sophomore Jr Rowland, who threw for 313 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 14.2 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 35 yards and one touchdown. A healthy portion of Rowland's aerial production (95 yards to be exact) went to Dayvon Griffin, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Windsor Forest didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Brantley County to a completion percentage of just 15%. The Knights weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 54.5%.

Kaden Hendrix and Malachi Saunders certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Hendrix rushed for 122 yards on only 11 carries, while Saunders rushed for 95 yards on only 11 carries. Saunders really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.

Brantley County's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Windsor Forest will take on Liberty County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Knights' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Brantley County, they will challenge Pierce County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
