Volleyball Recap: Whitewater Beats Cherokee Bluff for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Whitewater had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Cherokee Bluff Bears on Wednesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won five matches in a row.

Leading Whitewater to victory were Rylee Vessell and Evie Higman. Vessell had 24 digs and three aces, while Higman had 12 digs and two aces. Vessell has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 19 times she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Cherokee Bluff lost, don't look at Josephine Lundy. Despite the final result, she had eight digs and two aces.

Whitewater's win bumped their record up to 27-7-1. As for Cherokee Bluff, they moved to 31-14 with that loss, which also ended their four-match winning streak.
