Volleyball Game Preview: Pender Patriots vs. South Lenoir Blue Devils + How To Watch

The Pender Patriots will venture away from home to square off against the South Lenoir Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Pender lost 3-0 to North Brunswick on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Scorpions: they've now lost four in a row.

While Pender was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into North Brunswick's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-17, 25-18.

Despite their defeat, Pender saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jensen Bordeaux, who had seven digs and five kills, was perhaps the best of all. Eden Gurganous was another key player, getting eight digs and one block.

Meanwhile, South Lenoir came up short against Clinton on Thursday and fell 3-1.

South Lenoir was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Clinton work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 26-28, 25-15, 25-16.

Pender's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for South Lenoir, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.

Pender might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from South Lenoir in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
