Football Recap: Del Norte Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Del Norte can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Rancho Bernardo Broncos and fell 49-15. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Nighthawks have suffered against the Broncos since March 26, 2021.

Del Norte's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. Rylin Battle was the real danger to the passing game, picking up two interceptions all by himself.

Gaige Weddle had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 236 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes for Rancho Bernardo. Weddle also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making eight total tackles and defending one pass. Brody Cella was another key player, gaining 128 total yards.

Del Norte has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Rancho Bernardo, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

Del Norte does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rancho Bernardo, they will challenge Granite Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
