Football Recap: Ocala Christian Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Ocala Christian was the 32-8 winner over Merritt Island Christian when they last played one another back in October of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Crusaders took a blow against the Cougars on Friday, falling 44-8.

Antonio Shuman threw for 46 yards and one TD. Derrick Mcgill was his top target, picking up 46 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Joshua Davis rushed for 106 yards.

Caleb Richeson was nothing short of spectacular for Merritt Island Christian: he rushed for 135 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Richeson's longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards. Bode Handwork was another key player, throwing for 162 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 passes.

Ocala Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Merritt Island Christian, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Ocala Christian will challenge St. John Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Merritt Island Christian, they will take on Sports Leadership & Management at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
