Baseball Recap: Mater Dei Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mater Dei can now relate to. They fell 6-3 to the Greenville Comets on Wednesday. The Knights just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Ethan Wheelan was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits.

Mater Dei's loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Greenville, their victory bumped their record up to 26-4.

As of now, neither Mater Dei nor the Comets have any future games scheduled.
