Baseball Recap: Priory Takes a Loss

Priory was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Chaminade Red Devils. The Ravens were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Miles Anstey was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Carter Stone, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Priory's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Chaminade, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-19.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Priory will challenge Lutheran South at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chaminade, they will head out to challenge St. Louis University at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
