Soccer Game Preview: James Wood vs. Kettle Run

The James Wood Colonels will venture away from home to face off against the Kettle Run Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. James Wood's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for James Wood's offense. They fell just short of Sherando by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Kettle Run was forced to settle for a draw. They and Liberty finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw on Tuesday.

Kettle Run's draw gives them a new season record of 4-1-1. As for James Wood, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3-1.

James Wood was able to grind out a solid win over Kettle Run in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colonels since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
