Baseball Recap: Sacred Heart Academy's Loss Ends 13-Game Winning Streak at Home

Sacred Heart Academy dropped their record down to 7-2 on Saturday, which also ended the team's 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Irish have suffered since May 11, 2024.

As for Kalamazoo Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.

For Kalamazoo Central's part, Eliot Goerge and Nick Dolislager did most of the damage at the plate: Goerge went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, while Dolislager got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.
