Baseball Recap: White River Takes a Loss

White River blew Auburn Mountainview out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Auburn Mountainview got their revenge. The Hornets fell just short of the Lions by a score of 5-3. The Hornets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 24-9.

Alex Kelley and Lucas Brazier stepped up to the plate in a big way. Kelley got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI, while Brazier scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that Brazier snagged this season. Jaxson Whiting was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

White River has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Auburn Mountainview, the victory snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 5-6 record.

Coming up, White River will face off against Orting at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Auburn Mountainview, they will head out on the road to take on Kent-Meridian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
