Volleyball Recap: Palm Springs Comes Up Short

Palm Springs lost against Palm Desert back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Indians lost 3-0 to the Aztecs. Considering the last time the Indians couldn't score was back in August, the team can't take the result too hard.

While Palm Springs was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Palm Desert's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-16, 30-28.

Despite the loss, Palm Springs still got an impressive performance from Hayden Murdoch, who had 42 digs. With that strong performance, Murdoch is now averaging an impressive 13.1 digs per game.

This is the second loss in a row for Palm Springs and nudges their season record down to 14-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 22-5 Xavier Prep (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 78.7% over those games). As for Palm Desert, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.
