Softball Game Preview: Mt. Gilead Indians vs. Elgin Comets

Mt. Gilead is 0-4 against Elgin since March of 2017 but things could change on Saturday. The Indians will be playing at home against the Comets at 12:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Mt. Gilead came up short against Centerburg on Thursday, falling 22-2.

Meanwhile, Elgin lost 15-5 to Hardin Northern on Tuesday.

Hayleigh Lowther made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Destiny Frye, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Elgin's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-6. As for Mt. Gilead, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16.
