Baseball Recap: Fayette Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Fayette was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Stover on Monday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 15-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Falcons considering their one-run performance the game before.

Ethan Bean was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bean was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Caleb Craig was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker LaValley, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Fayette always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Fayette's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-11. As for Stover, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Fayette has already played their next matchup (against Knox County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Stover, they have also already played their next game, a 10-0 loss against Lincoln on the 22nd.
