East Paulding saw some tournament action on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Woodstock Wolverines as they made off with a 9-3 win. With that victory, the Raiders brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
East Paulding let Ella Heal and Kinsley Taylor run wild. Heal went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Taylor went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits Heal has posted since back in September of 2024. Emma Hernandez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
East Paulding was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
The win got East Paulding back to even at 2-2. As for Woodstock, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Looking ahead, East Paulding will be taking part in a tournament against Kell at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Longhorns are coming into the matchup with three straight victories on the road, so the Raiders will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Woodstock, they will head out to face off against Pope at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
