Jenks prepares to host a special TOC 2015-16 ceremony where the football team will be nationally recognized by MaxPreps.

MaxPreps is pleased to announce that the Jenks (OK) Trojans have officially been named to the 11th Annual MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard, which is in its 11th year honoring football.

This is one of the most prestigious team awards in all of high school sports and it is an exclusive honor reserved for the top 100 teams nationwide. In order to be eligible, a team must win a state championship and be highly ranked in the MaxPreps National Rankings. For football, only 50 of the country's best are invited and with nearly 17,000 competing varsity teams. This puts the Trojans ahead of 99.9 percent of their opponents!

Head coach Allan Trimble and the Trojans were picked as the No. 1 2015 Oklahoma preseason Fab 5 football team and ranked No. 8 in the preseason Southwest Region rankings. Three-time Class 6A-I champion Jenks went into the 2015 season determined to claim its fourth straight title to extend its reign and the school's 16th football title. Their football program was already the owner of 15 state titles which was the third best in Oklahoma — not far behind Clinton's 16 and Ada's 18.

The Trojans rolled past Norman North (69-34) and Union (33-17) in the 2015 OSSAA Class 6A-I playoffs en route to the state championship game. Jenks not only set up the opportunity for its fourth consecutive title, but also to avenge its only loss of the season. In week 8, Broken Arrow snapped the Trojans' 54-home game, 26-district game and overall 15-game winning streak. Needless to say Jenks came out ready for vengeance.

On Dec. 4 before 14,000 fans at H.A. Chapman Stadium, the Trojans got even and ran away with a 35-14 victory over the Tigers for their fourth straight Class 6A-I state championship. This is Coach Trimble's 13th state title in 20 seasons with the Jenks and the school's 16th overall since 1979.

The Tigers kept Jenks to a close 16-14 game going into halftime, but the Trojans seized momentum after senior quarterback Cooper Nunley threw a 67-yard touchdown pass to Dillon Stoner in the second half's opening minute. Player of the game Nunley connected for two more as Jenks pulled away with a 35-14 win over Broken Arrow.

Nunley completed 15-of-23 passes for 285 yards and junior running back Rueben Thompson finished with 24 carries for 117 yards and three touchdowns. The Trojan defense held Broken Arrow to 46 yards in the second half while the offense produced 251 yards for an overall 457-210 advantage.

At the end of the season, four-time Class 6A-I champion Jenks (11-1) finished ranked No. 24 in the nation, No. 1 in Oklahoma, No. 1 in Division 6A-I, No. 4 in the Southwest Region, No. 23 in the top 25 composite rankings and No. 24 in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25.

These incredible season achievements have earned the Jenks Trojans an invitation to the 11th Annual Tour of Champions. This is the second time the team has been named as they were also named to last year's 10th Annual Tour of Champions.

Please join us as we celebrate with the football team, head coach Allan Trimble, students and fans on Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 1:45 p.m. during the signing day assembly in the gym.
