Softball Recap: Summit Comes Up Short

Summit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 8-5 to the Western Christian Fighting Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fighting Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-5 on Wednesday.

Arianna Munoz was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Isabella Smith was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles.

Summit's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Western Christian, their record is now 10-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Summit will take on Grand Terrace at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Western Christian, they will head out to challenge Ontario Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fighting Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
