Football Game Preview: Caldera vs. Ridgeview Ravens

Caldera will challenge the Ridgeview Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Caldera has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Ridgeview will arrive with five straight victories.

Last Friday, Caldera lost to Bend at home by a 27-12 margin.

Meanwhile, Ridgeview's rock-solid defense showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout two weeks ago. They claimed a resounding 27-0 win over South Albany. Fans of the Ravens have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Ridgeview's win came from a few key players Caldera will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Gage Hobbs, who threw for 163 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 63 yards. Those 63 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Alex Deuser was another key player, gaining 81 total yards and two touchdowns.

Ridgeview was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 233 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 186 rushing yards in five consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Caldera's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Ridgeview, their record is now 3-0.

Caldera couldn't quite finish off Ridgeview when the teams last played back in October of 2024 and fell 29-26. Can Caldera avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
