Basketball Game Preview: Marmion Cadets vs. Glenbard South Raiders

Marmion and Glenbard South are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Marmion Cadets will venture away from home to face off against the Glenbard South Raiders at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

On Friday, Marmion was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 55-49 to St. Francis. The Cadets have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Glenbard South, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They secured a 46-40 W over Elmwood Park on Thursday.

Glenbard South pushed their record up to 13-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Marmion, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.

Marmion came out on top in a nail-biter against Glenbard South in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 50-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marmion since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
