Basketball Recap: Mason County Eastern Comes Up Short

Mason County Eastern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Pentwater Falcons, falling 76-34. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 84-20 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pentwater to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trey Johnson, who went 10-for-22 en route to 22 points and seven steals. Johnson's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Jonny Arnouts was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds.

Mason County Eastern's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Pentwater, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Mason County Eastern wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-35 loss against Marion on the 11th. As for Pentwater, they have also already played their next game, an 86-22 win against Walkerville on the 17th.
