Basketball Game Preview: Lakewood Gators vs. Crestwood Knights

Lakewood hasn't had much luck against Crestwood recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Lakewood Gators will host the Crestwood Knights at 6:00 p.m. Lakewood will be strutting in after a win while Crestwood will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Lakewood turned things around against Hartsville on Friday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 52-51 victory over the Red Foxes.

Meanwhile, Crestwood came up short against Woodmont on Saturday and fell 44-34.

Lakewood's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 8-10. As for Crestwood, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

Lakewood ended up a good deal behind Crestwood when the teams last played back in February of 2024, losing 51-36. Can Lakewood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
