Preview: DSST: Cedar Falcons vs. Denver West Cowboys
The DSST: Cedar Falcons will be playing at home against the Denver West Cowboys at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. DSST: Cedar is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
DSST: Cedar put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 54-7 win over DSST: Conservatory Green. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-3.
DSST: Cedar got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Katelyn Fortune out in front who scored 17 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Fortune is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Raniya Paul, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Denver West can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They had just enough and edged Lincoln out 41-38. The win was just what Denver West needed coming off of a 45-20 defeat in their prior match.
DSST: Cedar is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Denver West, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.
DSST: Cedar came out on top in a nail-biter against Denver West when the teams last played back in February of 2023, sneaking past 37-35. Will DSST: Cedar repeat their success, or does Denver West have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
