Football Recap: Gobles Starts Season with Victory at Home + How To Watch

Gobles took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They blew past the Climax-Scotts Panthers 54-32. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-8.

Case Lord was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 127 yards and three TDs, and also threw for ten yards and one touchdown. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making six total tackles and defending one pass. Steven Juarez was another key player, rushing for 113 yards on only 13 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Gobles was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 514 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gobles will square off against Eau Claire at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th. The game will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Climax-Scotts, they will challenge Potterville at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th.
