Recap: Champion Golden Flashes vs. Newton Falls Tigers

The Champion Golden Flashes won the last time they faced the Newton Falls Tigers, and things went their way on Monday too. Champion took down Newton Falls 33-19. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Champion has scored all year.

Champion got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isabella Meyer out in front who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Meyer is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Addie Warzala, who scored four points along with six steals.

Champion is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Newton Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Champion will take on Struthers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Champion is coming into the contest with six straight victories at home, meaning Struthers will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. Newton Falls will take on Mathews at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
