Basketball Game Preview: St. Paul Cardinals vs. Sacred Heart Indians

St. Paul is 0-10 against Sacred Heart since January of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The St. Paul Cardinals will welcome the Sacred Heart Indians at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, St. Paul was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 60-55 to Bracken Christian.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sacred Heart, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They walked away with a 71-61 win over Faith Academy on Tuesday.

Sacred Heart pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.4 points. As for St. Paul, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-2.

St. Paul took a serious blow against Sacred Heart in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 81-53. Can St. Paul avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
