Softball Recap: Cordova Now 10-1 over Last 11 Games

It's playoff time, and Cordova had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Dora Bulldogs with a sharp 16-0 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won 20 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Camden Johnson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Johnson was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Grace Madison, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Khloe Herron, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Cordova kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive games.

Cordova has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-14 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Dora, they dropped their record down to 9-26 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Cordova beat the Bulldogs by a score of 15-0 on Monday.
