Recap: Cromwell Panthers vs. Valley Regional Warriors
The Cromwell Panthers came tearing into Tuesday's game with 13 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Valley Regional with points to spare, taking the game 59-44. Given Cromwell's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Valley Regional is ranked 162nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Valley Regional lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rex Grabowski. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Grabowski has scored all season. Noah Dolinsky was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Cromwell pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points per game. As for Valley Regional, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Cromwell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 78-56 win vs. East Hampton on the 9th. Valley Regional has also already played their next match, a 61-53 loss against Haddam-Killingworth on the 9th.
