Basketball Game Preview: South Kingstown Rebels vs. Rogers Vikings

The South Kingstown Rebels will head out on the road to take on the Rogers Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

South Kingstown is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Cranston West just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 52-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons.

Meanwhile, Rogers faced Coventry in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Rogers had just enough and edged Coventry out 51-49.

Rogers has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.4 points per game. As for South Kingstown, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3.

South Kingstown was able to grind out a solid victory over Rogers when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 57-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Kingstown since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
