Softball Recap: Desert Vista Has No Trouble Against Willcox

Desert Vista never let their opponents score on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Willcox Cowboys as the Desert Vista Thunder made off with a 16-0 victory. The Thunder have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cowboys, too.

Ava Briski was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Jessa Rameriz was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Desert Vista always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .833. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Willcox only posted an OBP of .100.

The win made it two in a row for Desert Vista and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Willcox, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Desert Vista wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 17-0 victory against Thatcher on the 26th. As for Willcox, they have also already played their next game, a 19-9 loss against Winslow on the 26th.
