Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Laurel). They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets 76-30. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season.

South Laurel got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jamie Buenaventura out in front who went 6 of 11 en route to 15 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. The dominant performance gave Buenaventura a new career-high in steals. Maci Messer was another key player, going 8 for 14 on her way to 18 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

South Laurel was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory (which was South Laurel's seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Williamsburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

South Laurel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-49 win against Harlan County on the 23rd. As for Williamsburg, they will venture away from home to challenge Mount Pisgah Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
