Smithville won the last time they faced Grandview and things went their way on Thursday too. The Warriors put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-0, 25-16, 25-10.

Smithville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elsie Mitchell led the charge by getting seven digs and four aces. That's the most aces Mitchell has posted over her last 11 matchups. Cali Zorda was another key player, getting eight digs and one assist.

They weren't the only good servers: Smithville was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive contests.

Smithville's victory bumped their record up to 22-4-1. As for Grandview, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.
