Baseball Recap: Carter Gets the Win

While Carter's win against Sequoyah wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Carter Green Hornets had just enough and edged out the Sequoyah Chiefs 7-6 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Green Hornets in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now won five in a row.

Ethan Lane made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Cainan Crowe was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Chandler Bowman also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

The win got Carter back to even at 2-2. As for Sequoyah, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Carter will take on Clinton at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sequoyah, they will square off against Polk County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
