Basketball Recap: Ava Schlotzhauer and Clara Williams Secure Win for Tipton

Tipton entered their tilt with Benton on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victor by a 73-50 margin over the Benton Cardinals. Tipton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 23 points or more this season.

Leading Tipton to victory were Clara Williams and Ava Schlotzhauer. Williams went 8 of 16 on her way to 20 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists, while Schlotzhauer dropped a double-double on 24 points and 19 boards. Schlotzhauer is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 31 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlee Bailey, who posted 12 points.

Tipton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive games.

Tipton's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Benton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Tipton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-47 victory against Battle on the 28th. As for Benton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 86-53 win against Capital City on the 28th.
