League recap: Elk Grove tops Sheldon to extend winning streak

Elk Grove extended the longest winning streak in Delta Valley this week by beating Sheldon, 55-0. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Thundering Herd.

Elk Grove took down the Huskies 55-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Julius Fullah ran for 148 yards in the win.

Monterey Trail's dynamic duo of Donovan Robinson and Jahmar Sexton proved to be unstoppable against Florin, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Robinson threw for 105 yards and 2 touchdowns and Sexton had 62 yards receiving. Andre Flury helped Monterey Trail's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 43 yards.

The Mustangs' dynamic duo of Robinson and Sexton proved tough for the Panthers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Fullah was the most successful running back in the league this week. Manny Scott-Anderson also contributed to the rushing game with 122 yards on the ground.

ROMANIA TYSON made the biggest impact on defense this week as Laguna Creek lost to Rosemont. The 5-foot-7 defensive back nabbed 2 interceptions.

Lamar Jackson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Franklin defeated Cosumnes Oaks. He completed 10 passes for 96 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 70 yards. Jackson's favorite target this week was Jabarri Johnson, who caught 4 passes for 43 yards.

Robinson put up the best numbers through the air as Monterey Trail defeated Florin.

Sexton was the best receiver in the league this week as T.J. Ewing's team defeated Michael Rosales' team.

The Wildcats' Jackson and Johnson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Delta Valley in both passing and receiving yards. Jackson has thrown for 564 yards this season, while Johnson, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 15 catches for 284 yards. Chris Nixon's team's Wadus Parker leads the league in rushing yards with 652.

The Thundering Herd led the league in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on Sheldon. Fullah during the win.
