Football Recap: Brawley Extends Winning Streak to Three

Brawley won the last time they faced Southwest EC and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Wildcats blew past the Eagles 38-12. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six matches by 26 points or more so far this season.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Brawley's defense and their four sacks. Leading the way was Deseray Thomas with two. She also made four total tackles, which is notable because Brawley is 3-1 when she posts at least four total tackles, but 5-8-1 otherwise.

The win was the third in a row for Brawley, bringing their record up to 8-9-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.0 points on average over those games. As for Southwest EC, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-7.

Brawley and Southwest EC could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Wildcats (ranked 233rd) will meet Vincent Memorial (ranked 50th) at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Southwest EC will face off against Imperial at 7:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (436 vs. 73).
