Baseball Recap: Concord Comes Up Short

Concord came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-2 to the Pinkerton Astros. The Crimson Tide haven't had much luck with the Astros recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Concord's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Pinkerton, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Concord will square off against rival Salem at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Pinkerton is set to face off against their familiar foe Trinity at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Astros 3.8, the Pioneers 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
