Volleyball Recap: Lincoln Northwest Falcons vs. Gretna Dragons
After flying high against Nebraska City on Tuesday, Lincoln Northwest came back down to earth. The Falcons came up short against the Gretna Dragons on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
The final score came out to 25-12, 25-10, 25-16.
Hannah Pearson paced Lincoln Northwest's offense, picking up four kills. Pearson got some help from Daimani Gersib and her ten assists. Gersib was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Lily Zimmerman was a one-woman wrecking crew For Gretna. as she had 19 digs and five aces. That's the most digs Zimmerman has posted since back in September. Kenli Donner also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Lincoln Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 10-26. As for Gretna, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 26-6.
As of now, neither Lincoln Northwest nor the Dragons have any future games scheduled.
