Baseball Game Preview: Oaks Christian Lions vs. Moorpark Musketeers

The Oaks Christian Lions will face off against the Moorpark Musketeers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Oaks Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Moorpark's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Moorpark will be up against a hot Oaks Christian team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Oaks Christian walked away with an 8-3 win over Saugus on Saturday.

Oaks Christian got a great performance from Christian Ipsen as he pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.

At the plate, Quentin Young was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chad Rolison, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Moorpark lost 8-1 to Royal on Wednesday.

Moorpark saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Woodford, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base.

Oaks Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Moorpark, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Everything went Oaks Christian's way against Moorpark in their previous meeting back in February, as Oaks Christian made off with a 9-2 win. Does Oaks Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Moorpark turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
