Baseball Recap: Colony Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Colony can now relate to. They fell just short of the San Dimas Saints by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. The Titans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Saints earlier this season, when they won 4-2.

Colony got a good showing from Michael Huicochea, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Huicochea has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Colony saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Lara, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those doubles were Lara's first of the season.

Colony dropped their record down to 22-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for San Dimas, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.

Colony does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for San Dimas, they will take on Paraclete at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Spirits will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Saints surely won't give up without a fight.
