Basketball Recap: North Myrtle Beach Takes a Loss

North Myrtle Beach lost against St. James back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The North Myrtle Beach Chiefs fell just short of the St. James Sharks by a score of 43-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Chiefs have suffered against the Sharks since January 29, 2016.

Despite the loss, North Myrtle Beach still got an impressive performance from Wells Hill, who posted nine points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Hill a new career-high in blocks (two). Landon Cloninger was another key player, putting up eight points.

North Myrtle Beach has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season. As for St. James, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Myrtle Beach will venture away from home to square off against Myrtle Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Myrtle Beach is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season. As for St. James, they will head out to take on Socastee at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
