Preview: Marshall Phoenix vs. Wallenberg Bulldogs

Marshall is 2-7 against Wallenberg since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Marshall Phoenix will head out on the road to challenge the Wallenberg Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

After a string of three wins, Marshall's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 52-42 to KIPP SF College Prep. Marshall has struggled against KIPP SF College Prep recently, as their match on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Martel Peters, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. He hasn't dropped below four steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jorge Aceves, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Meanwhile, Wallenberg unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Monday. They fell to Lycee Francais 36-31. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wallenberg has scored all season.

Marshall's record is now 7-12. As for Wallenberg, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-9.

Marshall took a serious blow against Wallenberg in their previous meeting back in January, falling 71-32. Can Marshall avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
