After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last five matches, Wilkes Central finally came back down to earth on Monday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Elkin Buckin' Elks. Wilkes Central's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Wilkes Central's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5-2. As for Elkin, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
