Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Prep Lightning vs. Santa Cruz Valley Dust Devils

The Lincoln Prep Lightning will venture away from home to take on the Santa Cruz Valley Dust Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincoln Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Lincoln Prep will head into Saturday's game having proved themselves against Ray: Lincoln Prep took a 32-point loss the last time they faced off against Ray, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Lincoln Prep narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Ray 64-61.

Meanwhile, Santa Cruz Valley came up short against Arizona Lutheran Academy on Tuesday and fell 62-52. While losing is never fun, the Dust Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Coyotes are ranked 92nd).

Lincoln Prep pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Santa Cruz Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
