Baseball Recap: Ignacio's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

While Ignacio's victory against Sanford wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bobcats skirted past the Indians 6-4. The win was some much needed relief for the Bobcats as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Ambrose Valdez made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Valdez was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Gabe Archuletta was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sonny Flores, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Ignacio's record now sits at 10-7. As for Sanford, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Indians beat Ignacio by a score of 7-5 later that day.
