Baseball Recap: Taconic Wins Going Away Against Wahconah Regional

The matchup between Taconic and Wahconah Regional on Friday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Thunder were the clear victors by a 19-4 margin over the Warriors. The matchup marked the Thunder's most dominant victory of the season.

Ed Ferris was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Taconic is 2-1 when Ferris posts three or more RBI, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Quentin Christopher, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Taconic hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wahconah Regional struck out seven times.

The win got Taconic back to even at 6-6. As for Wahconah Regional, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Taconic will challenge Ware at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. The timing isn't great for the Thunder: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while the Indians have snatched up five consecutive wins on the road. As for Wahconah Regional, they will face off against Granby at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
