On the hitting side, William Blount's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Merriman, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. Trinity Johnson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, East Hamilton owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They blew past Boyd-Buchanan 6-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hurricanes.
Not much got past Yulai Woodruff, who gave up just two hits and racked up 16 Ks to keep Boyd-Buchanan off the board.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bailey Poschke, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Rutley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
East Hamilton's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for William Blount, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. William Blount has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like East Hamilton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
