Basketball Recap: Brady Balkcom Key Part of a Team Effort in Gryphons Win

Academy for Classical Education's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Pike County Pirates by a score of 46-38. This was a revenge game for the Gryphons: when they faced off against the Pirates back in November, they had to take a 63-52 loss.

Academy for Classical Education's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brady Balkcom, who posted 11 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Vincent, who earned 14 points and five assists.

When it comes to explaining why Pike County lost, don't look at Yadi Rosado. Despite the final result, he had 15 points and six rebounds. That was a full 39.5% of Pike County's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Academy for Classical Education now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Pike County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Academy for Classical Education wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 58-44 victory against Twiggs County on the 19th. As for Pike County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-44 defeat against Crawford County on the 18th.
