Softball Recap: Gardendale Falls Short of Clay-Chalkville in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Gardendale can now relate to. They fell just short of the Clay-Chalkville Cougars by a score of 9-7 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Rockets have suffered since March 8th.

Gardendale's loss dropped their record down to 23-18-1. As for Clay-Chalkville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Gardendale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clay-Chalkville, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-5 win against Pinson Valley on the 28th.
